Today, August 8^th, Alcantara New York will launch the Kickstarter for their t-shirt collection “Not Another Mommy and Me”, an eco-friendly and gender neutral t-shirt collection for the whole family. Alcantara New York is a fashion company designed by Bronx Natives and mother-daughter duo, Cindy Alcantara & Naija Janae.

The Mission

This collection is made of organic cotton, recycled bottles and fabrics  which not only eliminates the worries of toxins but it also encourages an eco-friendly lifestyle for us all. Alcantara New York is #FashionWithACause and a t-shirt collection that “encourage confidence and individuality with our children, while promoting a Green lifestyle.” Alcantara New York believes in leading by example and promoting a green lifestyle. Doing their part to leave the earth healthy for the children. T-shirts can be fashionable, make bold statements and keep the earth clean!

The Inspiration

Founder, Cindy Alcantara explains that her daughter and inspiration for the collection, “Naija, wants to be just about everything when she grows up from a singer to a nurse to a teacher and I absolutely encourage her to try everything until she finds what she is really passionate about.” The “Not Another Mommy and Me” collection reinforces the idea of self-empowerment and individuality. Each bold statement, “I’m A Genius,” and “I’m the Future President, to name a few, promotes a gender-neutral environment, emphasizing that there are no limits for our children.

Similar clothing lines solely promote just a “Mommy and Me” theme but Alcantara New York wants everyone to be included in supporting their child, including Dads. This unisex collection encourages the entire family to empower and support each other through fashion, by showing pride and confidence in the abilities and future aspirations of the family as a unit.
