BRONX POETRY POEMS BY ALLEN LUM – PART 2 by Allen Lum November 9, 2017 48 Boredom Boredom, daydreaming, A consequence of An uninspiring lecture. Unfortunate really, Because if not for The unimaginative style, It could be so much more. Fraud Speechless, like I haven’t spouted Words so profuse before, like I’ve been robbed of my agency, That it shakes my very core. Creativity never was my forte But I pretend like it is, Because if I can fake it, Then I can be someone. I write some things here and there But there is none more to them Than there is to decipher. Without meaning they are. *The opinions and ideas expressed are solely those of the author, and may not reflect the opinions of The Bronx Brand* Allen Lum is from the Parkchester section of the Bronx. He believes the Bronx is a literal manifestation of “making something out of nothing.” He believes his resilience, work ethic, and drive from the borough in which he was raised. He has learned so much about grittiness, about strength of character, and about success growing up in The Bronx.
