Gabriela Valette is from the Claremont section of the Bronx. Living in The Bronx has made her realize that she’s an underdog. As a Latina growing up in the Bronx, she’s had to fight twice as hard to succeed. What she loves most about The Bronx is our culture. We are a community of underground greatness, you just have to put in that extra work to find it. Her parents came from the Dominican Republic with nothing but hope and enthusiasm and while we all know coming to America wasn’t easy for our parents, having a community where they find familiar faces helped make this journey a little easier.
