As we approach the 2020 election, remaining informed is key. We’ve been working hard to keep The Bronx informed and aware of our candidates and their platforms.   We sat down and talked with Democratic Nominee Jamaal Bowman, NY-16, on his road leading to the November General Election.

In a candid chat, we covered everything from social justice reform and Black Lives Matter, to housing as a basic human right, income inequality, and, even Cardi B.

We first introduced Mr. Bowman as a candidate in our Bronx Voter Guides.  Mr. Bowman’s ran on a platform of housing justice, a reconstruction agenda, environmental justice, women and reproductive rights, school reformation, among many more issues.  Mr. Bowman, if elected, will be the Congressional representative for over 730,000 constituents – 300,000 of which live in the Bronx.  As only one of 4 congressional districts representing the Bronx (NY-8, NY-14, NY-15, and NY-16), this coveted seat has long been seen as a battleground race.
