THE TROUBLE – A Zef Cota Film
Bronx based filmmaker, Zef Cota will be Premiering his Debut Feature Length Film THE TROUBLE at the 2018 Action on Film Festival in Las Vegas on Thursday August 23rd, 2018. The movie is an Urban Western That centers on Underground Poker – and was mostly filmed in the Mott Haven area of the Bronx.
Cota runs an independent film production company based in the South Bronx called Alphabet City Films – he is also Vice Chair of the non-profit group, The Bronx Filmmakers Collective. He has previously directed eight short films but this is his debut Feature length film which he has Directed and Co-Written with fellow Bronxite, Mark Marini.
THE TROUBLE is nominated For 9 awards at the Action on Film Festival including BEST PICTURE, OUTSTANDING CAST PERFORMANCE, and BEST EDITING.
The film is also the feature debut of Bronx based actor and comedian John Vogel who is nominated for Best Actor – and NJ native Christian Torres Villalobos (now based in LA) and who is currently starring in the Master P produced film I’VE GOT THE HOOK-UP PART 2.
The film also features an original score by Bronx Based musicians Andrew Marinaccio and Michael Stephens who produce music as DATA 91.
